Presenters:

June Feder, PhD,  Chair,  NYSPA Insurance Committee.

Dr. June Feder has been an active member of the New York psychology community as a practitioner, advocate and educator. She just completed two terms of service as the New York representative to the APA Council of Representatives where she advocated for the interests of practitioners and New York psychologists, served as the Chair of NYSPA’s Legislative Committee for seven years, was a founding member of NYSPA’s Disaster Response Network and served as its chair for more than a decade on the heels of 9/11, coordinated counseling services for educator members of  the United Federation of Teachers for many years and was an adjunct professor of psychology in NYU’s Applied Psychology Department from 1993 to 2016.  Dr. Feder has a private practice for psychotherapy in mid-town Manhattan.

Mitchell Slutzky, PhD, Member, NYSPA Insurance Committee.

Dr. Mitchell Slutzky is a Distinguished Fellow of the New York State Psychological Association who has become a recognizable voice within the NYSPA community. As former Director of Clinical and Patient Services for CHE Behavioral Health Services, Dr. Slutzky acquired extensive experience solving payment issues and understanding various intricacies of Medicare and Medicare Advantage insurance reimbursement processes. As a member of the NYSPA Insurance Committee, he has applied this extensive experience to assist NYSPA members with their insurance challenges. Dr. Slutzky is also a member of the NYSPA CE Committee, another area where he has proven himself knowledgeable in helping fellow NYSPA members understand the finer aspects of the new continuing education laws and regulations. He is an active and regular contributor to the NYSPA listserv, both on these issues and on many others related to the unprecedented changes to our healthcare system due to the rapid shift to telehealth during the past pandemic year. Dr. Slutzky received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology, San Diego, and postdoctoral training at New York University’s Postdoctoral Program in Psychoanalysis.
