Psychologists often find helping couples to recover trust following infidelity a daunting challenge. This is commonly where treatment efforts get stuck. During this hour long interactive conversation Dr. Peter Kanaris will discuss a critical aspect of his model for the treatment of infidelity. The broken faith that results from infidelity often creates hopelessness for a couple with no clear path forward toward healing and a rebuilding of trust. Dr. Kanaris will present his ideas and methodology for restoring trust as central to his overall approach to the couples treatment of infidelity.

Presenter's Bio:

Dr. Peter Kanaris is a Brooklyn native and proud holder of a BS in psychology from Brooklyn College. During his long career as a psychologist he has been honored by the Suffolk County, New York State, and American Psychological Associations for his work in educating the public as to the value of psychology particularly through the use of the media. He is affiliated with the Northwell Health System and holds privileges at North Shore University Hospital and Long Island Jewish Hospital. Recognized as a Diplomate of Sex Therapy by the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors and Therapists, he has directed Sex and Couples Therapy services for two multidisciplinary group practices. He continues to supervise and train psychologists in Sex Therapy. In recent years, he has concentrated on providing treatment and education on his model of the treatment of Cyberinfidelity.
